ROD WILSON
Rod Wilson has performed extensively as a featured pianist and a member of very diverse bands and orchestras. These include rock, brass, jazz, big bands, and classical ensembles.
He has also accompanied and performed with, some of Australia's most talented artists in concerts, tours, luxury hotels, bars, lounges, clubs, restaurants and jazz venues.
As a child, Rod quickly mastered a range of instruments and performed in concerts and tours from an early age, before studying music in Melbourne. His musical career includes rare moments such as playing keyboards at the Sunbury Pop Festival when Deep Purple and Billy Thorpe were striding the stage and entertaining the likes of Billy Joel. National and international tours, studio session recording, record and album production, live television appearances, more concert performances and musicals have followed.
Rod has been a long time member of Jazz trio /quartet mercutio and has become a very popular solo performer on grand pianos in some of the most elegant and exclusive hotel venues, including The Grand Hyatt Hotel, the Sofitel on Collins and the Hotel Windsor.
He is currently entertaining appreciative audiences at High Tea at both the Hotel Windsor and Hotel Sofitel on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
